Comments Thread For: Jeff Horn To Be Honored By Brisbane For Pacquiao Win

Brisbane will pay tribute to Jeff Horn's "historic" victory over Manny Pacquiao by lighting up a landmark, hosting a tickertape parade, and presenting the newly-minted boxing champion with the keys to the city. The local school teacher defied the odds to upstage the Filipino champion in front of nearly 52,000 at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Good on him - just like Rungvisai. New blood, new heroes. New era.

We should have more fights in Australia. They seem to actually support their fighters.

For a former schoolteacher to upset massive odds and turn back one of the greatest fighters of all, yes it is a big deal and great story. Whatever you may think of the result, I think Horn proved everyone wrong (including me) and deserves all the accolades coming his way.

That's a great idea! Shame no fighter worth anything will go there again, no worth the home cooking

I don't know about all that. Errol Spence went to hostile territory and got it done.

Difference is that Spence has NO problems knocking out his opponent. Unlike Manny "Do Just Enough To Win Rounds" Pacquiao.

I don't have a problem with Jeff Horn celebrating this win. This win isn't so much what Jeff Horn did right as it is what Manny Pacman did wrong.

Agreed. The last 4 rounds looked like Manny not fighting for the first 2 minutes then trying to steal the round with flurries. Pacman can count his lucky blessings he's not a stepping stone at this point in his career.

Homecookin'. This kid has heart and thats it. But he did not win. These are the decisions that hurt boxing. Especially on live tv, free on espn for everyone to see.
