Bellew isn't very good. Ward would clown him. I say that as someone who doesn't care for Ward at all.

hardly a fairytale m8
It was close but I felt he eeked it out & left no doubt with a big 12th.
Makabu was a good win, feared and a legitimate top 5 CW at the time.
And who gave him a cat in hells chance vs Haye?
Beforehand people were talking like Haye would K.O in 3 with 2 achilles injuries and 1 hand tied behind his back.
He's upset the odds several times going from an ordinary, sort of fringe LHW who was given no chance of beating any half decent CW by anyone myself included. He beat 2 and went to HW and beat Haye.
I don't like the gob****e but going from getting decked by Bob Ajisafe and losing to Cleverly and putting in a pathetic performance vs Stevenson to avenging his loss to Cleverly and beating Masternak, Makabu and Haye surely deserves a lot of credit.
You could downplay any fighters wins and resume. Nobody gave him a shot and he keeps upsetting the odds.
What if he did cause another unthinkable upset vs Ward? Are people going to downplay that to by saying Kovalev ruined him and he's not a CW and he wore a steel cup that Ward broke his hands on? lol
I think he's had a lot of good fortune but he deserves it imo he took the risks when nobody else dared.

to be honest, i still think he's the most overrated British boxers in the game & one of the luckiest, 'beating' haye literally gave him a golden ticket that imo he didnt deserve.
If he defended his belt agaisnt his mandatory breidis he would of lost, if he fought ANY guy in the Cruiser-weight tournament he would lose.
I don't therefore consider him a legit CW champion or a legit HW.

Maybe I gotta rewatch that though the fight ****** from memory but I vaguely recall having money on Masternak and came away with the impression that Bellew probably edged it, very tight though.
I do see where you're coming from he's certainly not half as good as he thinks he is that's for sure. He is a bit Danny Garcia esque for me tough, limited as hell classic overachiever with a lot of luck on his side.
I thought Masternak would edge him close, Makabu would most likely flatten him though the Mchunu video dropped and I realised Makabu was very vulnerable but I still favoured him. I thought he might have some success vs Haye but never did I picture him really beating him even a shot Haye.
I think its just got to the stage where he's proven me wrong so much I've gotta applaud him and give him props. He's on some run and got some nice wins considering how **** average I feel he is.
