Deontay's run as champ has been less than stellar and is only gonna get worse when he gives Stiverne the mandatory rematch

But as long as he continues to win I think a fight against a legitimate opponent at some point is unavoidable. He would have had Povetkin under his belt if only Povetkin could surpress his desire to take illicit performance enhancing substances. Eventually AJ or Parker or someone else worth a dam will get him in the ring.

The Povetkin thing was a shame. It showed that Wilder IS willing to take on a decent opponent. Personally, I believe Povetkin would have stopped him. Anyway, can't blame Wilder for that one.

If Wilder was as easy pickings as some like to portray he would have been lined up and paid for someone to take him out by now.

Now that doesn't mean anyone is scared of him or anything that deep he is just not viewed as easy sure money. There is money in fighting and beating Wilder (and he can be beaten) but getting carted out of a ring on a gurney is pretty bad for business for any heavyweight, cruiser weight or light heavyweight.

The correct thing for Wilder is to fight boxers from the top 10 rankings of the sanctioning bodies. Not guys that are consistently ranked outside the top 10.
          Give me Ortiz

I agree. Just wondering where the goalpost will move if he does fight Ortiz.

as has already been explained a million times, ortiz is the wba mandatory and haymon isnt going to let joshua off the hook.

ortiz/wilder isnt going to happen until joshua fights ortiz or vacates.

I've heard this many times over and still have no idea why folks say it...have they even seen many of Wilder's fights? Not just the Harrison fight and the Scott fight, but the earlier fights where he was fighting out of shape guys

He's been manufactured perfectly and he's protecting his spot.

I had a job a few years back where i was woefully out of my depth and don't even know how i got hired.

Every so often I'd have a bit of luck with a client company who had already decided to trade with us, I'd happen to take the call and wing it and it'd be seen as a big deal and made me look great.

But in reality i dodnt know what i was doing and just rode my luck for an easy paycheck.

                  Thats wilder.

He's an imposter, but he keeps riding his luck.

He knows it too, he wont put himself in a situation where he really has to prove his ability because he knows he has none.

Povetkin was mandatory and they bid 5 million.

Wilder basically had no choice plus it was a nice cash out payday.

Lets not act like he really wanted that fight. Its just not taking it would have been worse.

I disagree with the vast majority of what you posted about wilder. That Polish builder was an excellent boxer, and is a top 10 heavyweight, as are majority of other fighters wilder fought. If not top10, then top20 for sure. He definitely doesn't think he's garbage. When his opponent is there, he over commits and starts swinging. But he was boxing nicely against spilzka, and was still winning majority of the rounds.

HW sucks right now, and it's hard for him to fight anyone in the top5. Aj wasn't ready for him and is busy with wlad for a year, fury is fat, povetkin got busted for PEDs Parker is a joke who's avoiding him. Only person who's left is Ortiz, who brings no money and is very dangerous.

His resume is better than majority give him credit for, and he has no good options for the next 6 months.
