Why not just ****ing pay Salido what he wants? As long as it's not unreasonable like wanting several million dollars.

That Marriaga fight is complete trash!! Waste of ****ing time.
What does beating Marriaga do?
They should have tried negotiating with that rigo. Even though I do think rigo is ****ing scared to move above 122 and they're just playing all the idiots that believe their lies..but who knows maybe he is telling the truth. That's why it's important to ****ing try!!

the problem is this.....

I would always back the guy who fronts up..... and never believe the guy who fails to call his "bluff"..... waaaaay too much of that rubbish goes on..... that encourages lying, and this aint poker

it would be very easy for Loma to call Rigo's " bluff "..... especially considering the fact that he would hold all of the advantages

but yea, like Mike D said in that very good post above..... it is too early to make a call as yet, we need to wait and see how it plays out

Lets think about this clearly for a moment guys:

-Lomachenko already beat Walters & Sosa

-Berchelt is fighting Takashi Miura

-Corrales is fighting Castellanos.

-Gervonta is definitely not getting in with Lomachenko, at least, not within a year or so. We already know this.

-Francisco Vargas is ducking Lomachenko--- actually, maybe it's Golden Boy who probably won't let them fight. Either way, Lomachenko already called him out and nothing happened here.


That doesn't leave many names at 130 left. Salido already declined $720,000. At this point, I'm just happy to see him take a fight versus sitting out of the ring. This isn't a fight I'm hyped up to see, but look above at the names and you'll see that leaves really nobody. Yeah, Rigo says he'll fight Lomachenko, but for how much? Rigo already pulled out of their fight before, despite weight and finances being settled (and they would fight at 126 lbs).

Nor can you really expect Lomachenko to jump to a 3rd weight class already... He's only been at 130 for a year. At least give him some time. More importantly, Mikey is fighting Broner so we can't see him fight Lomachenko anytime soon, which is the main reason people want Loma to move up.

You really shouldn't and can't complain about his resume at this point, and expect the best opponent time after time. Don't know why anyone would be spoiled expecting him to be able to secure any fight he wants when he's not a big draw and doesn't bring big bucks.

Razor, dude. I've seen you make smart posts before so I know you know where I'm coming from.

Making a deal with Marriaga is not the same thing as making a deal with Rigondeaux. For Marriaga it's basically a take it or leave it negotiation. Marriaga has zero leverage. And a fight with Marriaga needs zero promotion. Because it's a showcase. A negotiation with Rigondeaux would take time. There would be a back & forth. Then you need to truly promote a fight of that magnitude. That's a BIG fight. And the date is like literally 34 days from now.

It's pure fantasy to think that the two teams, Team Rigondeaux and Team Lomachenko, would hammer out a deal that suits both sides, promote this fight, and then be in the ring in barely over a month. Come on man you know **** don't work like that.

This potential fight between Lomachenko and Rigondeaux can be revisited immediately after the Marriaga showcase.

And you know that Bob doesn't want to immediately put Lomachenko in a tough fight in his first ESPN fight. That's why they opted for a showcase opponent. Y'all think I'm making excuses but I'm not. It's just the reality of the situation. I want to see Rigondeaux vs Lomachenko as much as you do. That was be an AMAZING fight.

Let Bob showcase him to the new ESPN audience and then let's see what happens. I will be the first one to come in here and admit that Team Lomachenko ducked Rigondeaux if they never ultimately fight him. I swear.

But what you also forgot to realize is that loma is 29yrs & Rigo is 36yrs. loma has most of the advantages. So like you say if it doesn't happen after this fight (a fighter moved up in weight, coming off a loss, knocked down in his loses & already lost to Walters) then team loma ducked Rigo. but people will still make up excuses. It's not fair to prolong this fight. Rigo & loma will not be mainstream in one year, clock is ticking on Rigo. Holler at me when loma has another opponent scheduled after this fight. I'm pretty sure it won't be Rigo.
