Paulie is a skilled boxer like him or not. He also to many eyes did beat Broner.
Connor better hire him as a coach, Paulie will talk with him about the seriousness of the issue and the truth that hurts

It accustoms Conor to a slickster, while not having much power, did get the best of Judah and has a wealth of boxing knowledge about angles, etc.

Paulie has also studied Floyd front to back and if there are any windows of opportunity to get at Floyd, maybe Paulie will enlighten Conor of these things.

It can't hurt Conor one bit. The only question is how much will it help?

        What does it matter?

McGregor has never fought a boxing match. He could be trained by Roger and Floyd Senior and spar against Floyd himself and he still has exactly 0% chance of winning.

You guys are gullible. TBE set this up.

Paulie was just at one of Floyd's gyms visiting him. I guarantee you Mayweather told him to try and up his game so it's not a complete circus.

Won't help much because McGregor can't box. Conor will be focusing purely on offense because you can't be taught effective boxing defense in a month's time. Furthermore, Paulie cannot truly emulate what Mayweather does because he doesn't know how to do it. If he did, he wouldn't have just been stopped by a no name UK prospect.

Paulie would be a better trainer for McGregor than a sparring partner.

I agree. It wouldn't hurt for Conor to get some rounds in with him but I think the biggest gain will come from what Paulie knows.

News was out there on sites that BoxingScene censors, last week.

Besides, it's common knowledge that Floyd respects Paulie, and Paulie idolizes Floyd. There's no way Paulie's there to do anything but either expose McGregor or try to up his game.

Floyd knows that getting schooled by a bum in Chris Van Heerden makes it a harder sell, so he's asking someone who has skill to give it a shot so that McGregor doesn't look like a total joke in there.

That would make sense. Efforts futile though. You can't just train a guy who has never boxed before in 2 months to box one of the best defensive fighters in the world. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Mayweather gives away a few rounds just to make it interesting.
