Comments Thread For: Joshua-Klitschko II - Frontrunner is Las Vegas, Says Hearn

Promoter Hearn held recent negotiations with Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente and believes the 41-year-old could be tempted by a world title fight in Las Vegas.

"I have been in talks with Bernd Boente and the team," Hearn told Sky Sports News HQ. "We're getting close now to identifying the real options in terms of venues and locations.

"Vegas has taken a little bit of a frontrunner in those. I know the British fans would love to do a trip out there for Joshua-Klitschko.

"I think in the next week, we're looking to present all those opportunities to Wladimir Klitschko and his team. Speaking to Bernd Boente this morning, I feel like it's going to take that special event to make this fight."

Hearn hopes a final decision will be made in the next fortnight about the venue for the fight.

"Anthony Joshua is the world heavyweight champion, he's not the British heavyweight champion. He wants to break boundaries and so do we.

"To see Anthony Joshua's name up in lights on the Las Vegas strip is certainly something that appeals to us all.

"Yes, I would say the next couple of weeks, we'll be looking to make a decision in terms of the venue and location."

UPDATE: Wladimir Klitschko Doesn't Want To Go To Cardiff

Vegas would be sweet. Nigeria and Cardiff don't make sense to me. I could see some big corporation from Dubai making a huge offer to host the fight. However this fight should be in Las Vegas because all the biggest fights are held in Vegas.

Has Wlad made up his mind yet on if he still wants to fight on?

Obviously he knows it's a fight there's a high chance of him getting KOd again.

Don't think the decision has anything to do with that though.

Kid.. don't kid yourself.. I explained to you in detail of what he is capable of at 41yrs & 17 months lay off..

The fight is in November & that is because AJ wants it in November.. So are you telling me that he got whooped so bad that he needs 7 months to recover?

Like Hearn said in the interview himself, Wlad wants it to be a better event than what they did at Wembley so Cardiff, Nigeria & Dubai are not going to be so easy to break the Wembley night..

It's taking him a 'year' to decide whether he wants to retire or not.

Yes.. it could so easily go the other way too.. He started slow & caught up in the later rounds, but knowing what he knows he would start strong for sure & so will Joshua.. Which should make it for an exciting fight while it lasts..
