How the heck does that translate into him saying he didn't get hit low by Ward?

I wanted Kov to smack Ward HARD , but to be honest he lost the fight , is ward the cleanest fighter in the game ? no , but this wasn't anything drastic , he showed class when he hurt Kovalev at one point with a legit punch to the body and instead of ENDING him he was so surprised he looked at the ref while kov was recovering doing nothing and the ref said lets go and he didnt , hitting below the belt is not a DQ , even if you take a point from Ward on one of those punches , Kov was DONE , he had no offense once he gassed and he 100% wouldve been beaten in the last 4 rounds , it was over and ward was the better man , no shame in saying that.

I'm already ok. You are the one with the obsessive need to convince fans like me that the rules of boxing shouldn't apply to Andre Ward.

Why do you think Ward turned and looked at the ref, instead of following up, after Kovalev doubled over from those two punches to the lower part of his waist band?

I'll tell you why - and it had nothing to do with class or sportsmanship from Ward - the reason he turned and looked at the ref was because earlier in the fight Weeks had given him a warning for hitting Kovalev in the exact same place.

Those punches landed low on the waistband, below the navel .. they were low blows, and they took the steam right out of Kovalev, who was looking a little tired but still coming forward throwing punches till he took them.

Was Krusher done, or did he think he'd been fouled and was looking for the ref to do something about it?

We'll never know know, because when Kovalev sat down on the bottom rope after clearly being hit low again .. Weeks stopped the fight immediately.
