Hall of Fame coach Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain has ruled out a possible fight between four-division champions Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Angel Cotto, simply because the Puerto Rican superstar just signed a promotional agreement with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions . With Marquez getting some other part of his body injured every other month I can understand why Nacho wouldn't want to subject Marquez to a possible physical thrashing.

Sounds like excuses to avoid a Cotto fight. It's probably just as well that the fight doesn't happen. Marquez is going to be 44, is worn down and his body seems to be falling apart.

Let Cotto fight guys like Matthysse and Bradley to end his career. Not sure what Marquez plans are but I'm almost positive he won't be fighting past this year most likely.

Cotto is the most over-hyped boxer of this generation... king of vacant titles, gifts vs clottey and mosley, fought handicapped fighters out of their prime, never won a fight against "A" class healthy and in their prime opposition... the only thing he was good for was robbing ricans for their money.... which made him marketable... even trout schooled him... sorry but I negate to being part of the herd of sheep and rather base my opinion on actuality.

What Marquez doesn't understand is nobody needs him. Cotto has no incentive to kill himself to make 147 for this fight.

If you want Cotto go up and fight him at a weight he's comfortable at.

Marquez would likely price himself out anyway. Not sure why they are crying for a fight with Cotto anyhow, Cotto would be a strong favor to win. Marquez needs to stay retired if he has no desire to offer Pac a 5th fight and do VADA testing.
