Garcia was speaking the truth. Sucks that the guy died, but he shouldn't have been high and spouting out that he had a gun. Have your license and whatever else ready for when the cop comes to the window, shut the f- up, and only speak when spoken to, or don't speak.

he had a license in an open carry state and didnt have his gun out nor reach for it

you shouldnt have to worry about whats going through a cops mind who has training, weapons, and all types of gadgets the apprehend you

the trained afraid of the untrained? you need to find another line of work and let a man with some damn courage and patience do the job with high stress situations

With that said, if I tell a cop I got a gun in the car, you best believe my hands would be 10 and 2 on the steering wheel before that disclosure. And my hands wouldn't leave that position until I had permission from the officer.

Sad story, but it appears he was reaching for something. Probably was just trying to scratch his balls, but I would have had my hands on the steering wheel at 10 and 2.

Also the cop was ****** and neglectful. How is the cop gonna say he was worried about the child and second hand weed smoke, but then proceed to shoot in the direction the child was sitting, not one shot, multiple.

I saw a documentary on the training that American police officers go through and almost everything in their training is greared towards an "us against them" attitude. Almost everything they learn is skewed towards the civilians being suspected criminals, rather than the people you, as an officer, are supposed to protect. The scenarios they study are based on people having concealed weapons or drugs; being gangsters, having gang members with them and so on. It creates a siege mentality, where the natural response to even the slightest disturbance is to pull out a gun and shoot the person. They are programmed that way.

Until the system changes, from the ground up, these situations will keep repeating themselves.

the cop obviously deemed him as a threat at that moment otherwise he wouldn't have shot him
