I would love Kovalev/Stevenson, and I wouldn't bet a dollar on that fight

Ward barely sc****d past Kovalev in the first fight..... and whilst I always said that Ward was underdone, and that he will make better adjustments, I knew that Kovalev would be right there

I still have him a solid #2 at LHW, over Stevenson..... but that fight is hard to pick..... Kovalev would need a real tight game for 12 rounds, if Stevenson hits him flush like Ward did, it's goodnight
Yep, but I can't see Hunter really fitting well with kovalev... at this point, I'm really not too sure who should train him tbh. He's got to have a trainer he respects fully and trusts. Pedro Diaz? Teddy Atlas? Someone who's gonna say "look, I'm running this show, if you don't want that, I'm gone". Certainly he's gotta have someone who will push him to his max, work with him on his combinations, and especially his inside fighting.

I 1000% agree but he ain't winning sht if he keeps looking at the Ref. He needs to 1st realize this is BOXING and he's on his OWN!

Once he gets past that he needs to do dirt just like they do dirt.

3rd he needs a REAL corner to help him out in the Championship rounds.

Hunter will not train Kovalev. I think Jackson has done a great job with Kovaelv, it's just that Ward was a better fighter on June 17. Whatever issue he has with JDJ, if feels like he needs a switch then he's better off with a trainer he's cool with such as Abel Sanchez or Robert Garcia.

Robert Garcia might just be the best option.

Sanchez doesn't want to train him and Garcia doesn't want the headache of dealing with a diva. What can Garcia do for Kovalev's career at this point in his career? Kovalev is stubborn and will do whatever he wants instead of sticking with the game plan and listening to his trainer.
