Those blows were low. And it happened enough that Ward should have been warned, if not lost a point. Kovalev's style of headhunting with power causes him to gas out and so he wasn't doing well in the later rounds. No way the fight should have been stopped though. At the least a recovery period for Kovalev and at the worst a standing 8-count. By the way, I don't like to see or watch Ward but it's not because of his style of fighting; he's actually interesting to watch from a skill perspective. I just don't like him.

In their first fight last November at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Ward got off the floor in the second round to win a close twelve round decision over Kovalev to capture the three titles.
