He got a hometown win where the ref don't need much of an excuse to stop fight to let the fighter he wants to win, win. You get the feeling if ward had of knocked kov down the ref would have made 10 second count last 5 seconds counting fast.

When you have to get on your soapbox after every fight to explain a win then something is wrong. True champions win convincingly.

It was pretty convincing to his peers and many others. To be honest, I'm not sure why or how anyone could not characterize the guy as anything but a true champion. He just fought a top 5 p4p guy twice!

The response he gave was largely regarding the media who seemed to promote controversy for clicks or other negatively motivated reasons. I haven't seen or hear one person in the fight game outside Kovalev team say anything other than Ward broke Kovalev down and the stoppage was early but inevitable.

Well at least, I for one was sure as hell happy that Ward knocked that SOB out because it was good for boxing and for the overall good of mankind. Hate was defeated on June 17, 2017 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and I couldn't have been more excited.

So did hometown make Kovalev double over from legal body blows? Did hometown land that right hand that put Kovalev on ***** street? Did hometown keep Kovalev from protesting the stoppage immediately?

No, for the most part the media has been more than fair to him concerning his win. for the most part, they have gave him his proper credit and just due for his knockout victory over Sergey Kovalev.

The problem has been with the social media. The blogs and boxing websites who have anti-Andre Ward agendas are the ones who are attempting to discredit his shine and steal his moment.

I think the win was decisive. I mentioned in previous post that kovalev trunks were kinda high and ward at least deserves credit for giving Kov the rematch and wanting to win more convincingly.
