James Toney vs. Wladimir Klitschko for November 11

The Heavy division could use a Heart Transplant these days to help get the Blood flowing again, and this news could just be the transplant needed.

According to a report out by Kevin Iole of The Las Vegas Review Journal, James Toney could be next for Wladimir Klitschko.

Kevin Iole reports that: manager Shelly Finkel said he's working on a fight for Klitschko against James Toney, probably Nov. 11 in New York.

If that fight doesn't come off Finkel said unbeaten Calvin Brock was also is in the mix.

Iole's report also states that Hasim Rahman, the WBC champ, would have been Klitschko's first choice for an opponent, but Rahman faces Oleg Maskaev on Aug. 12... a date that could easily conflict with a fight in Novemeber.

Old news but they even have a date scheduled now, news courtesy of maxboxing.com

bad move for both of them. wlad should try to unify and toney should try to win an easier title if he even deserves another shot at this point.

I would nit trust that web site.
Unless I hear a presser from both guys.
Also, the date is kinda weird too.

a unification fight in the fall isnt possible. valuev and rahman already have scheduled fights and serg is promoted by king who certainly wont take such a risky fight for serg's 1st defense

In Rafael's notebook on Friday he said that they're trying to get this fight aired on ABC. ABC owns ESPN so it could happen.

This would be a nice boost for boxing, as Wladimir-Toney or Wladimir-Brock would be decent fights the casual fan could appreciate, even if they laugh a bit at Toney's less than athletic physique.

There are so many conflicting reports on Wlad's next fight, I'll wait for official word from him.

Toney will lose this fight. He looked terrible against Rahman. He is very out of shape and I say he gets KO'd.
