It was horribly promoted...

The first fight should've been on regular HBO, it was a great fight that would have had over 1M viewers. Then they should've put the rematch on HBO PPV. If they went with that plan, they could've gotten over 200K possibly.

But barely anyone saw the first fight, only 160K, and even less watched the rematch.

It's bad promoting all the way around.

How many US PPV boxers are there these days? As far as American champs go, Thurman and Wilder haven't even entered the PPV realm and Crawford did far, far worse than this. Pac can't even host a regular PPV anymore. Golovkin was pulling similar numbers to Ward. Disappointing, yes. But putting this on Ward is nonsense as he's one of the only Americans even doing boxing PPVs.

I think pacquiao would sell against a legit opponent.

Why are you acting like this? you know pretty damn well that Ward made the money he made because Roc Nation payed for everything. The fight was never word more than 2 millions max for each fighter.

And to me it's pretty obvious that Kovalev is making more than 700k. Maybe for taxes or whatever reason they are hiding his real purse. He would not be that ******.

Ward woule be making a 1-2 million purse aswell if it wasn't because Roc Nation decided to overpay him. And now they leave him.

Oh and BTW, GGG-Jacobs sold more PPVs and did better gate. Don't forget that. Jaaaaaaaaacobs.

Jay Z tried to invest in the new Mayweather. He found out that, no matter what, Ward will never be Mayweather. Ward is not a big draw. Maybe now, after this fight, he will sell better, though.

I expected less. Neither guy are PPV fighters and they are eachothers first PPV match up. They didn't have a DLH, Pac or Mayweather to catapult their career. So while 130k is low, to me it's expected.

The difference Is Pacquiao would have no problem selling PPV'S If given the proper opponent and how could you even compare Pacquiao to Ward when It comes to PPV sells? Ward on the the other hand Is ranked the number 1 P4P fighter In the sport and It wouldn't matter who you put him In the ring with his PPV'S would flop.

Who else Is their to put It on? Ward has no name value, has never sold well and never will.

Why can't you answer the question? Thurman is in the P4P top ten, and he's not PPV material. Crawford is P4P and he failed. There are no active American PPV fighters besides Ward and these are his first 2 PPVs against a guy who was never a draw either.

Beyond America, Pac isn't a draw anymore. Golovkin did similar numbers to Ward. You bitter dudes who have been wrong about him repeatedly want to discredit him any way you can, but who else is doing better right now? The only active boxer selling PPVs in the us right now is a Mexican.
