Training with contenders and champions would probably have an adverse effect. Either they drop their level to the point that he can compete or they beat the brakes off him. One gives him hollow confidence and the other would strip him of it.

I honestly don't see what he can pick up in a few months. Think of the new guys that go to the gym and think about what they look like after a few months. They still struggle with what is like breathing to a boxer: stance, moving around the ring, balance, spatial awareness, blocking and slipping.

Anything can happen when people are punching each other in the face but I'm struggling to see how McGregor wins. To be honest, I think Leonard could come out of retirement and beat McGregor.
