That's how Ward pays you. Then they said GGG was a coward for turning down the fight in 2016.

Theatrics and Dramatics OUTSIDE OF THE RING Sadly! Fans can say what the want but it is clear they LOVE IT! The numbers don't lie! The guys who act out of character and make fool out of themselves DO NUMBERS! That is the ONLY REASON why Mayweather vs McGregor will make a ton of money because FANS are beyond obsessed with LOVING THEM or HATING THEM!

Their Flashiness Outside of the Ring is what people can't stop watching them!

Ward is a likeable guy but he just doesn't have that thing where people gravitate to him. It's just his personality combined with his style of fighting plus he has always been with a third tier promotional company and you get what he is today.
Well yea like I said over & over Ward does himself no favors. But these other f#ckheads do themselves no favors either. Kovalev should never do another PPV in his career & Roc Nation & Main Events don't even show the competence level to be in the sport at the level they are at. So I suppose they all kinda deserve each other.

And fair play to Ward if he gives no f#cks about being bigger & getting paid 8 digit paydays every time out or even trying to reach that level like Floyd, Manny & Oscar. And I mean hell any boxer making $100K+ on a regular basis is doing better then 99% of the boxers out there so Ward is already doing f#cking fantastic all things considered.

Dan Rafael has mentioned the same number...but said it did at least that...

DTM, is there any truth to the rumor that Kovalev only made around $10k for the Ward fight Saturday night?
Dan Rafael, The Boxing Guy (1:13 PM)

No way. He made at least a million.

Idk about that necessarily, but I think Ward & his team went out of their way to f#ck over Kovalev in the deal for the rematch. I recall Ward loling about the deal back when they first agreed to it all so Ward & his team knew then what we know now.

This fight is probably the best example why a rematch agreement between high level guys should include some purse requirements &/or % cuts as to not give one guy too much leverage in the rematch talks.

I mean for example what sense does a rematch clause make if I only gotta offer you $2M for a $20M valued fight? So a boxer would need to accept a sh^t deal or turn down a rematch. That's bad for boxing & bad for the boxer on the bad end of that sorta deal.

exactly. ward just made 11 million dollars in 7 months. I'm sure he doesn't give a damn about being a ppv star.

canelo is the only other fighter on the p4p list making that type of money

              haters gonna hate tho.

Oh for sure. If i was Ward i wouldnt give a *** about being any bigger than am i now if im getting 6+million dolllars per fight. He gets the cash without the headache of being famous. In Wards mind thats prolly a win win.

Roc Nation gonna hate... they left him. He robbed them. Their fault anyway for being that ******. They bought judges and everything for him and now they let him go because they can't afford him anymore.

Look at this nbs old topic from his last sleep-fest:
"Andre Ward vs. Alexander Brand Averages 742k Viewers on HBO ..." 725 k when 21m muricans turned their TVs on for the Olympics.
So, 150k for Ward-Kov II is beyond great if you ask me, they must be the Russians living in USA.
