Last time I checked, GGG won that fight officially and technically based on all the main criteria of boxing. So no, GGG didn't lose until you can justify and explain how GGG lost against Daniel Jacobs.

I've gone back and forth with a prediction and still favor GGG but not by as much as I did before. Canelo has some tools to give GGG problems. It will be a great fight.

Canelo could pick apart Jacobs with his counters, and Golovkin would destroy Chavez because he has the skill for it. Canelo didn't 'struggle' with Chavez, he hurt him a bunch of times, toyed with him and embarassed him. Sure, he couldn't knock him out - but Canelo's knockouts come when the opponent is throwing something. Canelo is not a seek and destroy. He uses superior reflexes and timing to deliver an unexpected knockout blow.

Canelo is excellent at fighting on the ropes, his reflexes are top notch, and his counters are dynamite. You may be severely underestimating him.

You said styles make fights and Canelo could pick apart Jacobs with his counters. For the life of me, I'm trying to understand how you all make these assessments. Canelo has never fought at 160lbs, never faced a guy as long and rangy, never fought a guy with that kind of power, never fought a guy who could work the whole ring and willing to exchange. Canelo couldn't beat Jacobs. It'll look like Khan vs Canelo, only Canelo wouldn't be able to hurt Jacobs and get carefully beat up all night.

Footwork is highly important and Canelo sucks at it but that goes missing when discussing how "good" Canelo is.

GGG can box, and Canelo has good (but slow) feet. He is usually in good position to deliver the desired leverage on his punches, and keeps his balance well while on the offense + getting in and out range
