Ward's first first punch of the final three. 100% illegal low.

So debate has been going around the final three punches that Ward delivered. Some claim that while the final is low, the first two could have been legit.

Well not at all. Here is the first of the three final shots, it is coming from way down low, bringing the whole cup up and then Kovalev bends.
Compare the pic to the GIF, and you could see the moment. Kovalev throws a punch and brings his hand back. As he is bringing his hand back, Ward lands his shot. Now notice in the still it is the same exact moment where Kovalev brings his hand back.








EDIT : I have been corrected, here is a better representation of the punch landing on the HUBLOT logo, it does however confirm that the punch was coming in from way low, before hitting Kovalev right in the Hublot:

The pictures on inconclusive IMHO, the ones that made Kovalev fold in the 8th round were right on the belt on he was folded in half. This picture here didnt show impact.

No huh, I guess Ward's fist just all of a sudden goes up fully vertically from there and hit's Kovalev's stomach and that's what made him bend down huh....

No the glove went fully vertically up from there, hit Kovalev's stomach legally and that's what made him bend down huh.

Nah Kovalev was bending down from the previous body shuts, he didnt want to get hit there again. The picture you served up was inconclusive, there was no impact, Ward gloves was moving towards Kovalev body and could have landed anywhere due to both fighters movement.

This is coming from someone that picked Kov in the first fight, not a big ward fan but i did pick him to win this rematch.
