Yes, Ward was better. That doesn't change the fact that the fight ended because of an Illegal blow.

on the strength of this single lowblow determined the outcome of the fight.
That's it right there! The shot that basically ended the fight. It was low. The others were "borderline" so it basically can go either way right?? Legal or illegal. So it's not outrageous to think it was illegal like people are pretending it is. The fight shouldnt have been stopped there either. Put Kovalev on the spot and make him bow out or let Ward finish him off.

But the point of this thread is... where are ALL of these low blows people keep referring to. That one is the only one I see.

I agree with you Ward being better...which begs the question, why the need for the hublot shots?

There may have been two at the end, I would have to watch the three punch combo again. I believe most of the other shots throughout the fight were pretty much borderline.

So no, there weren't many, but the one or two that did land came at the worst possible time. Kovalev would have made It out of the round and we would have seen a proper stoppage In round 9.

You're going to end this debate with one thread? Fat chance of that. This was a fight that had an ending that will be debated for many years. Many Ward fans insist that Ward won fair and square and anybody who says otherwise is just a crybaby and a sore loser. Many Kovalev fans say Kovalev got robbed again and this time by the referee. They say Ward threw a ton of low blows without even a warning and these repeated illegal blows weakened Kovalev. They say Weeks gifted Ward a KO win when Kovolev bent over in pain from hard low blows. They say instead of giving Ward a KO win he should have docked Ward a point and given Kovalev up to 5 minutes to recover from low blows. Are these two sides going to change their minds? Not today and probably not ever. In the record books Ward has a UD win and a KO win and that will never change so you can be happy about that. There will always be some fans who think Ward is a grabby clinching octopus, who holds and hits, head butts, throws low blows and is a dirty fighter. That won't change either.

The last shot was a low blow, no doubt. Kovalev gets hit there and jumps and his face says it all. Big difference from a body shot reaction and a getting hit in the nut reaction. Anybody who has ever been hit in the balls knows how it feels, your whole body jumps

Ward wrecked him with body shots but that specific shot was low.
