I think you're not giving Ward enough credit. It was a Master class. By the sixth round Kovalev realized he couldn't touch him and he was pretty much a sitting duck. I don't know that anyone else at 175 does this to Kovalev.

He fought well and got the win. It was not his fault for the stoppage. As a massive fan of kovalev, ward did the job, no questions and now kovalev must move onwards for the time being. As far as the fans, there is seriously no need to drag someone down and write them off, there's plenty more fights out there.

A boxer does not finish after he loses. Even if it's a big loss.
