My point was people make the top 10 without warrant and used Cootto as an example since he made it right back in the top 10 after 1 win against Rodriguez despite losing back to back. People like to use HOF wins as well despite that HOF being way past his prime and sometimes shit.

A guy like Terence Crawford will be getting more credit that deserved for beating a near 40 year old Manny when they fight too.
How old was Hopkins when Kovalev beat him?

I strongly agree with this after a second look. Ward is should definitly be appreciated for beating the best at their best.

Ward has a long way to go. Mayweather won his first title at 21, Ward was 25. Thats a 4 yr. head start at the championship level. Mayweather last fought at the championship level at 38, Ward is currently 33. That's 5 more yrs. at the championship level. So Mayweather has 9 more yrs. at a championship level than Ward. Its not even close at this point.
hah, by that same math, mayweather has 17 years at the championship level to Ward's 8, more than double.

Ward has to fight another 9 years until he is 42 and win titles at cruiser and heavyweight to even come close. That still puts him at only 4 weight classes. Mayweather was lineal in his 4th weight class. can ward be lineal at heavy? riiigghht.

Floyd's opposition was more accomplished. Kovalev is arguably ward's best win and who did kovalev beat? If kovalev was ggg, posters on here would be calling him a hype job...since he's on ward's resume, he's a monster.

like i said. it just depends on what you like.
Mosley was done by then. Canelo was a great win, considering may's age at that point, cotto was a good one. manny was great Why is everybody big on corrales around here so much? Genero was a great win and castillo in the rematch was great as well......

quality resume for sure.....but krusher and froch were at the top of there game man so was kessler.......ward top opposition is more appealing to me.......

Ward is my favorite current fighter but no. One of the things that's missing from Ward is that he hasn't faced anyone with an inside game, granted that isn't his fault but that's pretty damn alarming when you look at it. Mayweather was tested in that department as early as the Jesus Chavez fight.

Again not Ward's fault, it's a dying art but I can't be the only fan bothered by that.
