Ward has the single most better win in Kovalev and more prime wins, but Mayweather has more depth and more champions.

    Froch
    Kessler
    Dawson
    Abraham
    Rodriguez
    Miranda
    Green
    Kovalev

    Mayweather:

    Hernandez
    Corrales
    Gatti
    Hatton
    De La Hoya
    Marquez
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Pacquiao
    Canelo

      don't even bring up kovalev.

      it's not kessler either.

Froch might get in via popularity. not certain.
Had it not been for Ward, Kovalev would've went down in history as one of the best Light Heavies in history. He still can if Ward moves up or retires.

      Quote me on that

Wow, Good Thread I'm going to have to take a close look at both guys resumes and analyze who they fought, beat and at what time of their opponents careers did they beat them.

        Great thread, props.

i like the wins against corrales, canelo (who's golovkins toughest challenge to date) genero, cotto, mosley, i felt like manny was 10 times better then kovalov ever was in his career coming off of wins over bradley.

like i said. it just depends on what you like.

Really? Mayweather fought like 7 guys that were rated P4P top 10 by most when he beat them. How many P4P top 10 fighters has Ward beat?

Someone like Cotto was in the top 10 for beating Delvin Rodriguez. I can make a judgment of a fighter just fine without the top 10.

And really, a beating 35-40 HOF isn't necessarily better than beating a prime fighter or something like that. We got people on this site crediting Canelo for beating Mosley FFS.

Mayweather's resume has more depth and he's won titles in more divisions. Ward has some very impressive wins though. The injuries and long layoff during the contract dispute has kept him from having a few more quality wins on his resume.

Has a record of 24-0 (7 KO) against former or current world titlists:
Won against Genaro Hernandez, Gregorio Vargas, Diego Corrales, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Jose Luis Castillo (twice), DeMarcus Corley, Arturo Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Manuel Baldomir, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, Miguel Cotto, Robert Guerrero, Saul Alvarez, Marcos Rene Maidana (twice), Manny Pacquiao, and Andre Berto.

Has a record of 7-0 (2 KO) against former or current world titlists:
Won against Mikkel Kessler, Sakio Bika, Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch, Chad Dawson, and Sergey Kovalev (twice).

Ward has a long way to go. Mayweather won his first title at 21, Ward was 25. Thats a 4 yr. head start at the championship level. Mayweather last fought at the championship level at 38, Ward is currently 33. That's 5 more yrs. at the championship level. So Mayweather has 9 more yrs. at a championship level than Ward. Its not even close at this point.

Mayweather beat Cotto before Cotto fought Rodriguez.

Mayweathers resume shits all over Wards. Don't be ******.
