Ward deserves the credit...but i think it's clear now that kovalev was never a monster. It's funny that ggg is a hype job and has faced nobody, but kovalev was a monster. If ward faced ggg instead, he'd be the monster and kovalev would be the hype job.

I didn't like Ward after the first fight, but I can't take anything from him after this one. He did low blew a few times, but I don't think it was intentional and I don't think it made the difference to the final result (he would win, maybe not by a stoppage). I think his performance was impressive, much better than the 1st fight.

Apart from the actual fight, he gave Sergey props after the fight and was generally much more likeable than after the first fight.

Referee screwed up both fighters IMO. He robbed Ward from a more conclusive finish and Kovalev a chance to recover.

I have no problem with Ward being p2p no 1 at the moment. He deserved it.
