Both fighters threw after the bell. The referee was out of position to break up the fighters. If anyone should be blamed, it's the ref.

here are the rules, it should be a no contest:

page 82 and 90 state hitting after the bell is considered a foul. page 84 then states and i quote "if the referee determines that a contest or exhibition may not continue because of an injury caused by an intentional foul, the unarmed combatant who committed the intentional foul loses by disqualification."

so director bennet didn’t know what he was saying since as per their own rules, intent matters and is what is used to determine a dq. in this case i would consider it unintentional foul if the other guy is punching at him too...they're both still fighting.

As for the out come I thought Paulie nailed it!
The punch to the kids throat prior to the bell shot I think discouraged this kid and he decided to "sit out" off the bell shot!

I get the feeling people have of it being OK for Rigo to get the win because the dude was obviously milking it, but at the same time the true fair call there was a no contest. Now on the other side of the coin you got Lampley lobbying extremely hard to influence the commissioner into DQ'ing Rigo on live TV no less that whole exchange on live TV was so shady I couldn't believe it was happening. That's some **** you imagine may happen in a backroom somewhere afterwards.

I'm with you. I couldn't beleive myself. The guy was hard pressing and you could see how uncomfortable Bennet was. Rigondeaux can KO everyone from 122 to 126 and they would not give any credit to the Cuban. The bias was obvious. I see a NC and Rigondeaux will move on. while chucky should be advise not to meet him again, not even for a photo shoot.
