Not a fan of both fighters. But I probably would buy this fight if it leads to a Stevenson fight. Ward don't even want to make a commitment even for just promotion purposes. It's hard to promote this type of fighter.

If you don't pay for the best fighting the best then what you will get is mostly circus acts that attract the paying casuals.
Actually we're getting tons of great fights this year.

And it's no surprise that Ward/Kovalev doesn't interest the masses. Ward fights very infrequently and lacks the ability to knock out or hurt opponents. Kovalev speaks broken English and acts like a jerk. Neither guy is charismatic. Ward always has a turd under his nose, and Kovalev has the personality of a guy shooting spit wads in the back of class.

This is how I go about my business because I'm an actual boxing fan (with the income that allows me to pay for the fights I really like). I have been super excited about the rematch since the first fight. I bought tickets to attend and will fly to Vegas tonight. I haven't been faze one bit by Mayweather-McGregor and the more boxing fans circulate it, the more it will take from this great year of boxing that we have been having. If boxing fans spent more time giving excitement and energy to casuals about the better fights, the best fights would promote themselves. Word of mouth is the best form of promotion. Like what you like. You don't need a bunch of other people to like it for you to dig it. Let's go, SOG!!!!

Both promoters failed miserably to generate buzz for this fight. I haven't seen anything on TV about it. If I were a casual, I'd be like ,"Who? Screw that, I'm taking my girl to the wharf and then maybe a movie." Blaming lackluster response to this fight on Mayweather vs McGregor is a cop out. On another note, there may even be some fans who think the first fight was fought in such a way as to create a rematch. Kovalev stunned Ward in the first then dropped him in the second. So we are to believe that Ward pulled some Hulk Hogan shit and miraculously completely recovered to dominate, while Kovalev just pretty much spent himself in the first two rounds? For the "Krusher" to fail to krush & Ward to barely eek out a decision is not primo entertainment to all.
