Comments Thread For: Nate Diaz: McGregor Has Puncher's Chance For First 2-3 Rounds

Nate Diaz breaks down the fight - Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather and mixed martial arts champion Conor McGregor, two of the most popular athletes in their respective sport, have agreed to a August 26 fight in Las Vegas. The fight is expected to gross millions of dollars with Mayweather a solid favourite. Mayweather, 40, retired in 2015 with an unblemished 49-0 professional boxing record while boastful Irishman McGregor, 28, is the UFC's lightweight champion.

if conor beats floyd boxing as a sport might as well stop existing. nobody ever will take a boxing fan serious again. the only way floyd loses is taking a dive to triple his earnings. other than that should be a devastating knockout for floyd. if he doesnt KO a guy whos below amateur level that's another bad look for boxing. if floyd takes this crap serious he should slaughter conor in 4 rounds or less.

I agree with him. I think Connor will just come out throwing power punches and try to press Floyd hoping he can hurt him early. If he doesn't we all know why happens.

Can't believe even u boxing fans are eating this up. Floyd has been in there with real punchers that hit 3 times harder than Conner.

Somehow McGregor is supposed to do what Pacquiao, Canelo, Marquez, Mosley, De La Hoya, Judah, Hatton, Chico Corrales couldn't do. You're delusional if you believe McGregor has a chance to beat Floyd!

Laughable. Absolutely not. McGregor has good hands and good timing with his punches but his footwork / footspeed / distance control as a boxer is non existent. How is he going to land damaging punches if Floyd is never in range? He won't. He'll be lucky if he lands anything noteworthy. Anything.

                  yea

Diaz is technically correct, but only in that everyone technically has a punchers chance

it is possible that Conor will not land 1 meaningful punch

and even if he does, so what..... 10oz gloves baby

what's his best hope, to get lucky all night long?

it is more accurate to say that McGregor has little/no chance, than it is to say that he has a punchers chance
