You know, Manny ate a LOT of flush uppercuts from Cotto.

Yet, as of Round 7, Manny was still just as lightning fast as the first round...kinda suspect.

And I notice something: Manny looks excellent against guys who have defense issues - guys who are there to be hit.

Cotto doesn't have terrible defense, but he's there to be hit, moves his head only when he's in specific dangers, decent footwork but Manny was cutting him off like a joke all night long. And Manny was pivoting and throwing combos even when Cotto wasn't on the ropes.

Where the hell was this Manny on May 2015?

2009 to 2015 is a long time. Especially when you get knocked lifeless between that time and have other wars in the ring.

But the thing is, we saw Manny sparring and training at the same lightning fast. So it's not the speed was gone - he just didn't bring it with him on fight night and I'm really curious why.

It's not like Floyd didn't also age. He certainly did especially after having to deal with Cotto and Maidana.

But Manny fought Floyd in a straight line. No pivots. No circling. No speed except round 4 and somewhat 6. He didn't even try to be overly aggressive in 10 of the rounds and I just don't understand why not. Afraid of getting KO'd by a guy who hadn't gotten a straight KO in over a decade? It's like being afraid of getting KO'd by Paulie Malignaggi.
