Kovalev needs to mix it up well between head and body, he needs to thro more body-punches than in the first fight, thats for sure. He can throw vicious body shots if he wants to.

This is a good idea. Ward was more noticeably hurt imo by Kov's body punches.

He will have to utilize his jab to the body to keep range. Fighting on the inside is a non starter for him. You don't learn that **** in one camp.

Trying to have a 34 year old fighter fight in a style that he never has as a pro, is not a good sign. It sounds a lot like Kov's own trainer believes Kov can't win if he fights like he always does. Kov has never been a body puncher, Ward has and is. That is why Kov didn't have anything left after 4 rounds. It had nothing to do with overtraining or any other excuse. But that isn't Kov's game. That's like telling Ward to go in and try for a quick ko. That's not his game. These fighters are at a stage where what they do, they do at the highest level. But body punching, fighting on the inside, these are not the way Kov fights. He needs to keep his distance and box and land power shots. That is how he ko'd a million other fighters. That is where Kov's at his best and Ward is at his worst.

I don't know anything bout the future, all I can talk is about the past and he lost the first one and was given a gift.
