According to the 2010 census there were more than 319,000 Mexicans in New York City. The community has seen a population growth of 6.5 percent annually from 2000 to 2010.

By next decade, Mexicans and Mexican-Americans are expected to be the largest Latino group in New York City. This means larger than the dominant Puerto Rican and Dominican Republic communities.

Remarkable because there has not been much mention of the Mexican population in the general publicly. Cesar Zuniga, who was born in the U.S. to Mexican parents, the 43-year-old has a reason behind this, "Their undocumented status. Unfortunately, a lot of Mexicans who landed here in New York City in recent decades are not documented and I think that is a motivator to sort of keep people under the shadows."

However, and while the community works quietly behind the scenes, Zuniga -- who recently tried to become the first New York Assembly member with Mexican roots -- says that if every Mexican worker were to walk out of their job in New York City it would result in one thing, "Economic meltdown."

I didn't know Mexicans lived in New York. I assumed it was all Puerto Ricans/Domincans

Times have changed, and nobody seems to know it. We're in a global world, and NYC is a global city. How many people were shocked when we saw Khurtsidze caught up on RICO charges with the Russian Mob? It seemed beyond belief. However the Russians have been big in Brooklyn since the 90s! The Irish had a mob, with Irish fighters. The Italians had a mob, with Italian fighters. ***s had a mob with ***ish fighters. The poor and working class of NYC have always embraced boxing. It's like you can follow the history of the working class of NYC, and the history of boxing at the same time! Mexicans boxing in NYC will only get stronger until some new working class moves to NYC! If working class Martians move to NYC, they will become boxing fans, and produce 2-3 boxing greats!

That made no sense either for the Frampton rematch they wised up and put that in Vegas. I get not wanting to fight in Mikey's backyard so the logical compromise should of been Vegas.

Exactly. Phuckin ****** to have it in the Weak Coast. This should have happened in Vegas or Southern CA.

I guess they didn't want Mikey to have the home advantage and keep it neutral as possible

They are always comp tickets in NY. I have been to 4 of those events their and it has been a healthy crowd. The Barclay even has a club and VIP rooms. If they didn't do profit they won't vie for the fight.

If you ask me they have been taking the business away from MSG. Since they rehab the place there is less seating and the events alongside with the food/drinks prices have sky rocketed
