Comments Thread For: Bivol: I'm Not Ready for Ward-Kovalev Winner, Stevenson Just Yet

Dmitry Bivol's ambition will lead the undefeated light heavyweight toward fighting a relatively recent world championship challenger with three times as much professional experience Saturday night. The 26-year-old Bivol is 10-0, has knocked out eight of his opponents and already owns the WBA's interim 175-pound championship. Despite Cedric Agnew's advantage in experience over him (29-2, 15 KOs), Kyrgyzstan's Bivol is the favorite over the 30-year-old Agnew to win their 10-round, non-title fight on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev undercard in Las Vegas.

I wouldn't put him in there with Ward, Kov or Stevenson yet if I was part of his team either to be honest.

Isn't he the mando for Cleverly? That's a more appropriate fight

Sounds good to me. Barrera vs Smith winner, Chilemba, Cleverly etc, fight a couple of guys on that level, then go for a title. Although winning a title at 175 ain't gonna be easy, a legit title anyway. We'll get the job done tho.

Yeah no rush.. He is still young & has a lot of time by his side.. Legit title he probably needs another couple of yrs to get there, but fighting guys you mentioned would keep him busy until end of 2018..
