ESPN reporting that sources are saying August 26th is being set aside for Mayweather-McGregor

It just seems too soon of a date to me for this fight. But we will soon find out.

UFC does PPVs every month. If you just double or triple their usual promotion for their PPVs, that will draw. You get McGregor vs Money May (instead of retiree May) on a 24/7 type thing, that will draw. This exhibition sells itself. 3 million @ 100 USD easily.

hahahaha, who needed sources to figure out that the mayweather promotions event on august 26 was going to be for mayweather-mcgregor? clearly gervonta davis wasn't going to headline MGM grand or t-mobile arena . . .

as for the fight being so soon, what choice did they have? oscar rushed the GGG announcement to grab 9/16. refused to take an offer from jerry jones because he needed the fight in vegas to block mayweather (mayweather would have gone head to head on 9/16 otherwise).

so floyd can go either right before canelo-ggg or right after. it's better to go right before when people haven't spent money on the canelo ppv yet.

Mayweather is gonna cuck Canelo's date and Oscar is probably already pissed about it.

I anxiously look forward to Oscar b^tching about this fight "no one wants to see" stealing buys from Canelo vs GGG.

Hope they put Tank in a good fight on the undercard. Throw Haney on the undercard too since I've been seeing him sparring with Floyd.

If Floyd wants to fight in Vegas, he can't steal the date. The commission won't approve a competing date on 9/16.

That's why Oscar had to make sure the fight was in the state of Nevada.

There is nothing to sell that's not already sold, the world will know about it within a week after its announced, the hype will just be nuts the fight is already sold.

Not too soon plenty of time to promote a ppv. They had no choice Steve Kim reported weeks ago that part of Golden Boy deal for t-mobile on Sept 16 was assurance that MGM would not let Floyd interfere with their fight. So Floyd had to take a aug date 3 weeks before the canelo fight or wait till Oct. Golden Boy blocked him from sept those were the only dates MGM would give him.

Both PPVs will succeed and make money anyway.
