I voted no. I don't think he was a cherry picker at all. He fought many reigning champions. Many of today's champions have not faced nearly the quality of opponents that Mayweather did. Is Wilder fighting the quality of opponents Mayweather fought? How about Saunders or Lara's last 4 fights. Now those are cherry pickers and Mayweather was not a cherry picker in my opinion.

floyd avoided prime cotto, marg, and pac. who cares how many crappy champs like ortiz he fought? those arent legacy fights. he had total a-side power and this was the opposition he chose? pretty dreadful. most other boxers dont have the control or money to get opponents in the ring like he did. comparing floyds power/control to laras...really? floyd squandered his chance at becoming a great but he filled his pockets.

They are two different fighters with different resumes. I am a huge GGG fan and I have never criticized Mayweather's resume and I voted no in this poll. Neither of them are cherry pickers.A cherry picker avoids tough fights. Mayweather is a cash cow so everyone will fight him. GGG isn't a cash cow and he is a very dangerous fighter. He has never avoided any top middleweight but many top middleweights have avoided him. He will soon have fought the three best middleweights in the world. Jacobs, Lemieux and Canelo, so how in the fuc is he a cherry picker?

but floyd wont fight them....example offered more money to fight #1 marg and instead chose to fight sharmba, zab and baldomir. marg also had the mexican fanbase floyd craves and caters to unlike those guys. he couldnt fight marg in 1 of those 3 fights??? just couldnt do it? we could do cotto or pac as well. retired when cotto was the super fight in boxing then offered pac a pathetic 40 million flat offer when he agreed to testing. after both suffered ko losses and were on the slide did he change his mind/demands. thats not cherry picking how?

So you are saying because he didn't fight certain guys on the day you wanted him to fight them that he was a cherry picker. Why would he avoid guys he could easily beat? He could beat Cotto or Margarito on the best day they ever saw. He is two years older than Pacquiao ffs. Why do you think Mayweather will be remembered as an all time great and Cotto and Margarito will not be? The poll option was that he was the greatest cherry picker of all time. I named a few current champions who were real cherry pickers. Look at the guys Lara has fought since losing to Canelo. They are mostly pathetic undeserving challengers. Don't tell me poor Lara can't fight better challengers than that because that's bull****. He has the best manager in the business. What's Wilder's excuse for years as the cherrypicking champ? You just have a hate on for Mayweather is all.

marg was #1 why wouldnt the fight happen? cotto was #1. pac was #1. those were the guys he was supposed to fight...and they werent flash in the pans like baldomir. they were established long reigning champs. he had plenty of time to fight all those guys. wasnt just one fight and one day like you claim.

why would he avoid guys he could easily beat...cause he didnt think he could beat them easily obviously. maybe you thought that but he didnt. the money was there...floyd wasnt.

hes 2 years older...so why not fight him 4-5 years earlier? why the 40 million flat offer and then agree to give pac 45 percent after he suffers a brutal ko loss. so pac gets more for being ko'd? lmao strange how that works. pac was a much more tentative fighter after being ko'd. same with cotto. hence the cherry picks. floyd doesnt like the high pace guys like castillo and maidana.

why will floyd be remembered as great? because of great cherry picking and a shiny undefeated record that shouldnt even be undefeated. he doenst have any great prime fighters on his resume cept possibly canelo and even that one was dubious. what all time greats have no great prime wins? hes still very good but you cant put him in the upper tier with guys who have great wins.

Damn, man, you are really on my case. I was more defending GGG than sticking up for Mayweather but you won't let me get away with saying a single kind word about Floyd. I get it. You think Mayweather was a huge cherry picker. I disagree with you so let's leave it at that since neither of us is changing our minds.
