The real problem the SPoon23, western, djtmal, the TS and others have is Manny is an active champion who is defending his belt against a guy no one knows, in a location no one cares about unless its to pass the torch to a younger fighter like Thurman, Spence or Crawford. (note:I'd add Loma but Loma said he wouldn't fight him).

Floyd, who is retired, has every major sports network and the major entertainment shows talking about his possible fight with Conor as the biggest sports even in the US this year other than the Super Bowl.

Sorry but Conor isn't fighting another boxer because its only an event if he fights Floyd. People care because its Floyd and Conor and they are both seen as the best.
