Pacquiao wasn't sympathetic to Margarito he was getting tired and already knew he won the fight. Margarito was also tagging him to the body. He knew it was unnecessary punishment for both of them.

If a boxer quits for not wanting to hurt an opponent he probably shouldn't be fighting.
