the best thing about this fight is how wart's fans went from "it was a close fight, it could've gone either way, ward won a close fight, no robbery" to "wart dominated from the second round, wart's body work almost took kovalev out" and the best one "kovalev initiated all the clinches" you gotta love this guys, they are a special bunchComment

Great breakdown on why Kovalev the better boxer
Better jab, better on the outside, better at cutting the ring off, uses both hands, higher ring IQ. I also think his speed is as good if not better than Ward's at 175. Then there is also his superior power.
People always underestimate Kovalev's boxing ability. Before the Hopkins fight, everybody thought the only way he could win is by stoppage. He won 12-0.
Same thing happened in November. Of course Ward was much more competitive but in the end, he lost in my eyes and I'm not the only one who thinks that. It was a close fight, but Kovalev was the clear winner.
Ward got the benefit of the doubt because the perception of him is that he's this master boxer. But he's not, at least not when he fights Kovalev.
I honestly think his performance against Kovalev was the best Ward has to offer. Kovalev on the other hand, will show us much more next Saturday. Kovalev by KO.Comment

The best thing about this fight is how the KKKovalev fans went from "Ward got dominated all night" to "Sergey faded down the stretch but only because he was overtrained, doe."Comment

Kovalev is less secure in saying he won the fight than most of his fans. There's only one thing he can say and I haven't heard him say it and that is, "I won't the first fight and I'll do it again." All I hear from his fans is now he's angry so he'll punish Ward this time. It sounds like the same thing they were saying the first fight. In fact they all but guarantee Ward would be put to sleep. The fight was close and the decision was awarded to Ward. Wasn't a clear victory but he won. It's up to Kovalev to change people's (not his fans) mind, and secure a victory next week.Comment

I did that a couple times for track meets when I was in high school. Had nothing left for the event.
The litmus test will be a week from today, and the potential for fireworks is huge. Can't wait.
Do you even understand what the term 'litmus test' even means? This isn't about excuses. And if you watched my posts you'd see... I acknowledge when the other guy wins. Don't you have some homework to finish for your 6th grade class, sonny?Comment
