Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux: Tired of Calling People Out; Always An Excuse!

You can sense the frustration in Guillermo Rigondeaux's voice. His first fight in nearly a year is a bit more than a week away, usually the time for fighters to at least mention potential future opponents. Rigondeaux is in no mood to play amateur matchmaker these days because the undefeated Cuban southpaw considers it almost pointless.

The guy needs to fight. He needs to work his way to a mandatory position and then people can't avoid him.

Rigo will fight in people's backyards, where they can make money.

But everyone is scared of him. Everyone has ran away from him. Literally all of the 122lb division moved up to 126lb to fight each other. Quigg, Mares, LSC, Frampton, etc...

Id say Lomachenko is not scared of him, but Bob Arum was scared to put Lomachenko in with Rigo, so it is the same result.

        It is really a shame.

Didn't Lomachenko called his bluff years ago and accepted the terms the Cuban himself dictated like money, weight, etc. and all of a sudden he wants more, not to mention a change in weight terms?

That's why it's not even necessary to avoid this guy. When you call his bluff he overprices himself all of a sudden. Quigg should call this guy's bluff and see what happens.

You got no fans , no ground and your support is **** !

Only messing one of my favourite fighters active in this generation

Maybe it's time to try and move up weights to attract the bigger fights ?

Defiantly got the skills to make noise at any weight around him

I really don't think anyone wants to see him fight. And I don't believe anyone who claims otherwise. Too bad for him but that is the reality.

The Lomachenko stuff needs to be viewed through the lens of Bob Arum being pissed off that Rigondeaux derailed Donaire's career.

Lomachenko's first fight came after Arum had already released Rigondeaux from his contract.

There has always been zero chance that Arum would throw a guy he is trying to build into a star in with Rigondeaux again, especially when he doesn't even promote Rigondeaux anymore.

No question Lomachenko wants the fight, and Rigo wants the fight.

And it doesn't even matter that Loma would have a very good chance of beating Rigo, Arum will let that fight happen when hell freezes over.

Man, walk to a mirror and look at the guilty party. He signed that Caribe contract but now wants to blame everyone. For three years i've been clamoring for this dude to be more present more active in the public forum. People ain't gonna fight for you if you don't give them reason to. Haye annoyed the public and Klitschko until the point people forced the fight to be made.

It didn't even have anything to do with Arum. Rigo kept bugging Loma on social media, Loma got sick of it and accepted the Cuban;s terms. Bob even cooperated and offered the fight. All of a sudden, the boring fighter wants more money, calls Arum all kinds of things, when he himself was the one who set the terms.
