Exactly. If kov really felt some real animosity or doubts about JDJ he could easily just drop him as his Trainer since according to posters on here, Kovalev doesn't listen to him any way. Why pay a guy to train you if he's not actually training you especially if you dislike each other? Makes absolutely no sense.

Now I'm not saying everything is 100% peachy with team Kovalev but they're obviously good enough if they're still working together.

All this extra **** has gotten old & tired. I'm just ready for the fight. Both guys are talking a lot of **** & both truly don't like each other.

I can't call it. Just like the last 1 I couldn't pick. I'm leaning towards Ward but something tells me Kovalev fighting mad is gonna work to his advantage. I don't think he's gonna gas this fight and I'm anxious to see how Ward handles him with a full head of steam for 12 rounds if it goes.

Kov probably just playing nice cuz the fight is days away ffs. You gotta fire JDJ imo. You just gotta do it at the right time & that right time isn't 2 weeks before a fight. You can't keep a guy around for very long who entertained leaving you to go to your next opponents camp & just didn't get the right deal to leave you.

This is basic sh^t I think. Although I suppose you could keep him around in diminished capacity for longer to insure he doesn't sell you out til his price to leave you gets low enough for that to happen following the better to keep your enemies closer logic for the time being.

As much as I feel sheer physical pleasure by listening to the sound of Kovalev's punches, I can't help thinking that this will be another unanimous decision for Ward...

Well, if Kovalev beats Ward, there is no need for either Kovalev or Jackson to part ways. Why change something that is working well?

Weigh evidence people or does the fact that you love Kovalev overshadow everything negative about him. The other thing we know is that Jackson was told to be quiet in the first fight so obviously the man would have a motive to leave
I don't doubt that he named a price. What I do doubt is that Jackson would have jumped ship to Ward's camp weeks before the fight and left Kov out to dry like that!

He may have jumped ship after the fight.

I also doubt that he initiated the call.

Sounds like something James Prince would cook up more so than Ward.

The truth is, Ward has to make more adjustments in the rematch than Kovalev. Ward was seen as the far superior boxer and that wasn't the case in the first fight. He was outboxed for the first half of the fight and got dropped and ****** up.

All Kov needs to do is work on his stamina. He can beat Ward with the same game plan he had in the first fight. I don't see Ward beating Kovalev if he comes in with the same game plan he had.
