Russians aren't "racist bigots" per se... they are more like **********ic... (Chauvinism: an exaggerated patriotism and a belligerent belief in national superiority and glory.)

Kov didn't get no opportunities in Russia, they overlooked over there as a boxer and thought he was a chinny guy who was straight up and down!

Funnily enough that changed when he met JDJ and he tweaked his Soviet union stiff Stalin commie style and became a bit more athletic, boxed more and fought smarter!

Idc I like Kovalev as a fighter and respect his willigness to fight on foreign soil all the time!

It helps that he is who he is(unlike Ward) and fights with a clean style and can box but as well put your lights out! The nasty attitude is a plus, it's a shame he is racially insensitive and it's likely due to how he grew up and what he absorbed in his surroundings as a kid to a teenager!

But I don't respect him as a person, that "Adonis looks nice" joke was not meant to be funny, even if Stevenson looks like an ape someone should've told before he posted it to not do it!!
