Running from who! Canelo? He was in the pocket with Canelo, and Canelo just couldn't hit him.

Not running away as in him physically running but in the way that he won without a doubt by a lot.

If Kovalev come with the mindset that all has to do is hurt Ward and get a KO he will make the same mistake as the before. Gassing wasn't the only problem he had last time. Ward has a lot of tricks... he's been undefeated since he was a teenager.

But the reality is that he was overworking himself to maintain those clinches and headlocks.
          Yup, I agree.

You forget to mention the part where he INTENTIONALLY admittedly weight drained him for no other reason than to gain rediculous advantage.

esp. considering hed fought at 154 twice,& had been saying for years that "pacquiaos wins at cw dont count, when you make a fighter lose weight & fight at cw,it doesn't count as a win, since you fought them at a disadvantage,I want my opponents to be at their best",he then admits right after"I know hes not been eating right,I have spies, thats what I wanted instead of him training hes trying to lose weight and starving himself" he then starts eating giant plate of food & says "hes gonna feel weak & drained come fight time" he then starts taunts him "your going to bed without dinner huh, this steak loks good dont it,thats why I have all this $ because, people say I fight tailor made opponents wit every advantage,of course I do,all these other fighters who everyone says fight the best & dont cherrypick opponents, thats why their not undefeated,I do pick my opponents that I know ill beat,id rather be a cherrypicker who's undefeated than to lose"...

He's saying he ran out of gas, that' why he didn't perform well. Is that hard to understand? That doesn't mean he's saying he lost. Damn these guys getting slower every day

Lmao of course training hard is the reason why he got tired. Learn a little bit about training, load capacity, periodization, programming, autoregulation, overreaching, peaking, etc. Of course you don't have any idea of what that is. Yet you are here making a dumb statement.

                      Just watched it again.
Overall it wasn't a great fight.
                      Kovalev deserved the victory.

                      1) Kovalev was the aggressor for most of the fight
                      2) Kovalev was more active
                      3) Kovalev got a knock down
                      4) Close rounds traditionally go to the champion
                      5) Etc.

He's not making excuses, he's pissed because he got robbed.
He's simply stating that next time, he'll dominate even more.

Hell, even Virgil states at the end of the 9th round that Ward absolutely needs to win the last 3 rounds.

Did Ward win the last 3 rounds?

The way I see it, Kovalev was the main aggressor even in those rounds, he had Ward on the run!
At most, Ward got in a few good counters in each of those rounds.

I like Ward, he's a good fighter, with an excellent boxing IQ.
I don't care for his "son of god" religious bull****, but that's another story!

My favorite moment is when Ward tries to grab Kovalev's leg in the 3rd round to make him fall. Priceless!
