It's gonna be Collazo. You can count on that.
I can already see the promo w/ highlights from Collazo-Thurman and Collazo-Sammy Vasquez in my head.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 06-05-2017, 10:04 AM.Comment

Provide stats that the Memorial Day weekend hurt the Spence ratings. Provide stats that most people weren't home during the time the fight aired. Provide stats that the time of the fight hurt the ratings.
Otherwise SHUT THE FUCK UP about that nonsense you moron.Comment

My guess is it's probably average. At best. I mean as far as the amateur scene goes. Same thing with the number of boxing gyms...there's more MMA gyms around here than boxing gyms. And probably by a wide margin from what I've seen personally.
Spence's gym that he trains at when he's here is probably...idk, like less than 10 miles from where I live? It's a tiny little gym in a nondescript shopping strip.

Danny is another easy fight for Paq or Spence. Danny is quite limited talent wise but has been managed and matched quite well his whole career. Paq will pick slow danny apart which Manny likes. Danny cannot hurt Paq and Paq knows this. Boxing is all about cash anyway. Spence and manny never will meet. Nor will Thurman and Paq ever fight. Angel has matched Danny very well his whole career.Comment

We're talking selling tickets not ratings. It doesn't matter where Broner fights, his ratings will always be good.
The reason Easter Jr can sell more tickets in his hometown than Broner can in his is because there's nothing going on in Toledo but the Mudhens. Just like there's nothing going on in Omaha but the Storm Chasers. Easter Jr and Crawford are their city's professional sports team.
Cincinatti has two pro sports teams, two major colleges with good basketball teams, and a lot of Kentucky residents who are diehard Louiville and UK fans. When the Broner fight was made they couldn't get the US Bank arena because something else was booked. The night of the fight there was a concert at US Bank and a big comedy show the night before (I think it was Dave Chappele). Announced attendace for the fight was 6,000. Now remind you, Cincinnati is a boxing city. They got a mural and street named after Ezzard Charles, and they love Aaron Pryor, they have boxing gyms all over the city and they put on a lot of small cards there and the amateur scene is big there. But my point is there is a lot of other stuff going on that boxing has to compete against. Cincy isn't even that big. Now imagine the shit going on in Dallas that boxing would have to compete with.
You think it's smarter to try and headline Spence vs Van Heerden in Dallas the friday before the cowboys play at home rather than put him on a televised Stevenson's undercard in Canada? Or maybe you thought it would've been smart to put him in Dallas against Bundu the day after the Cowboys played at AT&T Stadium?
You can't just throw a guy in his hometown and expect people to come. Boxing has to compete for dollars against other entertainment. And one thing you don't want to do is have him going against the Cowboys and the Mavericks. He's at the point now where he has enough buzz in his city. Cowboy players are starting to talk about him. Dez Bryant is one of his biggest fans. He's done promos with the Dallas Mavericks. Now he's ready to fight in Dallas and compete for dollars against the other entertainment in the city. There's a lot of shit going on in Dallas.Comment

My city, Detroit, used to be a great boxing town. Boxing is dead here now. We have cards every so often. The Claressa Shields card was here and Salita promotions puts on cards at the masonic temple every now and then. They're doing here next card here too. But when I go to Cincy they have gyms all over the place and at least one professional card a month and a lot of amateur cards. It's what I would consider a boxing town. I'm going to this card in a couple a weeks. My friend is training a fighter on the card
And that's bad ass about your homie fighting on that card. I'll have to keep tabs on that. What's his name?Comment

Good lord this is a bunch of BS Haymon had half a billion, numerous show dates across half a dozen networks and you telling me they couldn't of found another day for bundu to have it in dallas? That there no venues in Dallas? And for the last time sports teams have nothing to do with boxing. You heading into well the PBC show bombed because WNBA aired head to head territory. Tons of tons of cities with or without major sports teams have fights. Whether you had him headline smaller venues or had him co-feature in larger venues and bring in a bigger fight to main event you could of had Spence fighting more then once his entire career in dallas. Haymon dropped the ball simple as that. One of the bones fans have had with PBC from day one is where these fights have been made which have no rhyme or reason to them. Top of the list of head scratchers is why Spence is fighting all over over the place but anywhere but texas. All this nonsense you wrote and I'll take just a fight in the state of Texas forget Dallas can he just get a fight in his home state? Or more nonsense how there is no fight scene or venue in that entire state either? LMAO
My point I'm going to end with is most fighters don't fight in their hometowns. That's true for boxing and MMA. It's better for a fighter to fight on TV than in their hometowns until they're big enough to do both at the same time.Comment

Spence was never signed to golden boy. Their beef was guys who were signed and were not being reupped and resigned with golden boy under schaefer. Spence was never in that boat. He was a haymon guy who was thrown here and there on golden boy cards but they never had any say on his career. You can't play ****** now after years saying haymon was running the show and then blame golden boy. And since late 2014 when they split haymon had all that money, tv dates, networks and complete control and still decided not to put Spence in Dallas. Don't play dumb and blame this on golden boy when he was never signed to them half his career when he had a name and was the biggest prospect in boxing there were zero ties to golden boy at that point.Comment
