I don't know if there is a gap in ebonics or what, but Ward is simply saying that the trash talk doesn't matter because they have to fight on the 17th. Ward has said previously that it was a close fight that he felt he won. Kov has been talking more trash than Ward has. I'm surprised he's being viewed as the less-liked guy in all this. And people are still calling him a coward after he moved up to 175 and fought Kov. Then, he is rematching him when people said he wouldn't. What do you want from a boxer? "Oh, but we don't like his interviews." Geez, boxing fans are something else.

Maybe I'm crazy but the bold is what I got out of it as well. Words don't wear gloves.

What im interested to see, is if Ward is going try and win some early rounds and whether the Krusher will keep his composure or grow irritated at this but should Kovalev lose his cool in this fight he'll definitely lose. Might even eat jabs the whole night

You don't have to be Kreskin, you just need to have watched their first fight. Kovalev can make any excuses he likes, but he trained right for every other fight he's had. I guess it's plausible that Kovalev under-trained for his big PPV against the most talented opponent of his career.

Why does Ward talk as if Kovalev has any hesitation to see him in the ring again? Kovalev would be down to see him in the street right after their press conferences.

I think Kovalev is well aware that a 2nd consecutive loss could come and could put him way down on the "opportunity" list ... I think the vision of him having to beg for Stevenson his giving him horrific nightmares and the only thought of facing Beterbiev as the B side definitaly makes him puke every day...

If he overtrained, that's his own problem.

Ward had some ring rust, hadn't fight a good fighter since the zombie of Dawson, he could make excuses.
