Comments Thread For: Roc Nation Prez: Hopefully Main Events Contributes To Promotion

Los Angeles, California - Michael Yormark, the President of Roc Nation, believes his company is currently flying solo in the promotional build-up for the upcoming rematch between Andre Ward (31-0, 15 KOs) and Sergey Kovalev (30-1, 26 KOs). Last November, Ward won a close twelve round decision over Kovalev at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The HBO Pay-Per-View rematch takes place on June 17th at the Mandalay Bay.

... and the last time, in which way Roc Nation contributed to the promotion?... I don't remember...

It's troubling that Duva doesn't see the need to sell this fight to casuals. Ward nor Kovalev are big enough names to draw casuals in. Based on the posts here on NSB they like drama so give them drama and they will buy the fight. What do I know..I'm just a fan.

        No disrespect, but didn't Ward skip HBO's Face-Off 2?

Both these promoters suck who are we kidding. Ward is missing Face Off's & sh^t. RN did lil to nothing last time. Main Events did lil to nothing this time. Its like these dummies hate each other so much they are perfectly fine giving up money that'd go in their own pocket to spite the other side. LOL. Bunch of f#cking dummies all around with this promotion for both of their fights.

Its no surprise Ward is maybe the most talented, most accomplished least popular US gold medalist in a long ass time. And its also no surprise Kovalev is maybe the best real bad guy boxing could have, but him & his team are still trying to fit him in a tuxedo like he's something he's not.

And what exactly is Roc Nation doing more than Main Events to promote the fight? Andre Ward likes to surround himself by snakes, and it is very telling of his fake Christian image.
