A lot of trainers are good only for one certain fighter because of connection and understanding between them. Loma's dad for Loma. Roach for Pacquiao. Hunter for Ward

That's true, knowing that Virgil wasn't throwing hands inside the ring but he still needs to have that mother****er in the corner, he's a father figure for him or something like that

so does virgil, but if he has a fighter who he feels isnt focused or too hurt to take it in, he has to wake him up first. otherwise he just wastes his breathe.

hunter is a million times better trainer than abel. abels fighters have no defense, if they have defense before getting with him he takes it away.

thats just ignorant. ward never had another trainer, you think he made himself into one of the best fighters of his generation? he was a top amateur since he was a little kid, you think a child can just make himself one of the best in the country without guidance. grow up to have a skill set like that?

imo hunters problem is with ward he had 20+ years to mold him into a complete fighter. when he takes over these other fighters halfway (or futher) through their pro career there isnt enough time. instead of trying to make them the best fighters they can be at that stage he tries to turn them into the same well rounded type of fighter ward is. which sounds well but often they just lose their identity instead.

Joe and Loma had their fathers as trainers and both are amazing fighters , its not just the coach at the elite level its the talent , like in any other sport , without talent you cannot compete with the elite no matter who is your coach (you can see in football great coaches are being payed millions to coach small countries before a mondial and it doesn't work) , coach is a very important thing but if you are not talented enough it won't be enough , IF you are talented enough to hang with the elite THEN a coach can help you get that extra you need to win , Fonfara is a no hoper at the elite level there is not a single trainer in history that could turn that around , i dont like virgil nor abel but you are crazy to believe anyone can transform Fonfara into an elite fighter at this stage.

I disagree, Sanchez is a proven trainer because he has made different world champ.

Ask Norris if Abel was a sht trainer.

Hunter is a great trainer for Ward, but dunno if he is a great trainer. Dude has done sht with Kahn and many fighters.
