That's not actually true though is it?

Ortiz has said he won't, yet the WBA have said they're likely to give Joshua a voluntary first and Pulev's promotor has literally just said there that they'll wait for Joshua v Klitschko provided that Pulev is next afterwards and it's not Parker or Wilder.

"One thing I’m happy about, if they go again, if they allow the rematch to be the next fight, I’m very confident that he gets the winner, who I fully expect to be Anthony Joshua and we’ll have Joshua-Pulev. That’s the fight that Kubrat really wants."

Very much sounds like Pulev is willing to wait for the rematch to happen provided he is 100% definitely next. That's perfectly reasonable.

AJ needs to fight more.....this 1 or 2 fights a year is bull ****. Can't he fight pulev in few months and then klitschko end of year? Or do he have to fight klitschko next? Can he fight someone else while he waits for klitschko to make up his mind?

But there is one big problem, there is a rematch clause between Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko. Back in April, Joshua got off the floor in the sixth round to stop Klitschko in the eleventh round round to unify his three times.

the only thing I want more than Pulev getting sparked cold, is Joshua dumping the belt

            Wba & ibf

The WBA & IBF need to clean up the post Klitschko era debree .. Klits did a good job on keeping a peace for 10 years. Now, the new champs need to fight 3 times year to fulfill obligations & commitments.

If you don't play by the rules, you should lose.

Why did Anthony Joshua allow a rematch clause in the contract? He knew damn well that Pulev was supposed to be next in line.

If your answer is that Klitschko makes him more money...well, I understand. But Pulev is not a big draw so AJ could technically keep using the money excuse again and again and just keep Pulev waiting forever.

There has to be a rule in place where the #1 contender gets his title shot in a timely manner. And if the rule is broken then there has to be a penalty for that.

                It is what it is.

Vlad has rematch clause. Lets see does IBF want huge fees part of 100,000 mega fight or non ppv pulev smaller venue less shakedown fees fight

                      Sounds reasonable to me.

Fighting your mandatory is a fact of life in this business.
Whether you think the mandatory is deserving or not is of no relevance.

Imagine having an exclusive club in boxing where the only fighters allowed are ones perceived to bring money to the table.

That is your prerogative. Just dont hold the belt hostage.

                      Others have to eat too.

This coming from a HUGE Joshua fan.
