I think that's what Ward was hinting at with "there is a trail."

Regardless of who called who, the fact that he did say he would have jumped if they met his price says a lot about how unhappy he is.
^Thx for that insight. Very interesting...

Just sounds like gamesmanship to me. We know there was a conversation but we don't know the exact circumstances of it. I doubt that Kovalev is the easiest fighter to deal with and I'm sure JDJ would have listened to offers and if there was something to make complete financial sense, he probably would have gone there. I doubt JDJ will be with Kov for much longer but who knows... On Ward's camp's part, it doesn't hurt for this to get out so they can possibly create division in Kov's camp. It's just gamesmanship, that's it. I doubt it makes a difference in the fight next week.

For some reason, if the guy would have contacted Ward's guys I think e would have jumped ships for a lot less money than what he is getting.

If he was really mad at Kova.

I think Ward is playing dirty tactics and he seems to be te one telling the lie.

Team Ward will leak the tapes of the convo a few days before the fight.

The tension in the KKK Kamp will be at an all time high.

JDJ was told to shut up after ROUND1... go back and listen. he gave Kovalev ZERO advice because he couldn't speak. of course he would look for a way out.. but it was wrong of Ward's side to leak this. all this does is put JDJ character on trial and it doesn't look too good for him. he looks like a rat. maybe while he was opening up to Ward's team about his issues he gave them every info they needed about Kovalev.. thats where the vodka thing came from. JDJ opened up because he trusted team Ward then they stabbed him exposing him to the media.

Hmmm, you're right. That's what Ward means when he said JDJ opened up a lot about Kovalev

I still don't think it's that big of a deal. JDJ is free to do what he wants. When you work for someone, you're free to look for work elsewhere. But you have the LDBC coming up with fake news stories about how JDJ is being mistreated, which I find ridiculous.

The only really dirty/ slimy thing about this situation is that Ward's team brought this whole thing up for no other reason than to try and create tension between Kovalev and his trainer. They could've brought this up after the fight, but they decided to reveal it 2 weeks before the fight, which is a really dirty move.
