Comments Thread For: Klitschko Feels That He Gained More From Losing Than Winning

Former heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (64-5, 53 KOs) felt like a winner, even in defeat, after suffering a stoppage loss at the hands of Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) in late April. Before a crowd of 90,000 fans at Wembley in London, Joshua and Klitschko collided for the IBF, WBA, IBO world titles. Klitschko went down in the fifth round, but rallied hard to drop Joshua in the sixth and took over the fight before Joshua scored two more knockdowns to force a stoppage in the eleventh.

Klit got KO'd in an epic fight that will be remembered always

No shame in going out via a KO when one gives 100% in a great fight with all fans cheering the bout. Klit proved to be a warrior and a great warrior. Winning by losing is no shame at all.

To be fair, Wladimir is a credit to the sport.

Bull**** he knows he's hurting, if he had won he would be glorified as one of the all time greats if not the goat himself.

He gained newfound respect and erased a little bit of the stigma of being a clinch fiend. So, I think he did come out of the fight in a better light than when he went in.

He sounds happy with his lot and so he should.I feel this points to retirement but if there was to be any chance of seeing such a fantastic fight as the 1st i've got to say count me in.

He certainly won a lot of points with the fans after his performance, and showed he has the heart of a real champion.

Waldimir Kiltschko and Anthony Joshua have a very strange relationship, i think the fact that they genuinely like each other (Maybe abit too much!) Has effected both of their behaviors during the aftermath of the first fight! Kiltschko if he takes the rematch, needs to drop this attitude and reignite the eye of the Tiger! There are no friend during war! If the rematch does happen, i will be backing Wladimir Kiltschko again to beat Anthony Joshua! Kiltschko for me over-trained and was came in too light! and surely from a analytical perspective, he must understand that he basically took Anthony Joshua life and death by only utilizing 3 punches! (It was a heroic performance, but from a execution and technical perspective? it was not his BEST performance! Deep down he knows this, and so does his big brother!).

(Me personally i am looking forward more to the potential rematch of David Haye vs Toney Bellew, that will be some kind of Rocky 2 typed themed build up!)....
