Stevenson made some cash with the titles, now he wants to actually fight somebody. He knows Ward-Kov is for the real top of the division.

You avoided a fight against the Krusher as long as you possibly can, and you have avoided Alvarez for as long as you possibly can,, now you want to cash out becuz Alvarez will likely ruin your unification fight..WBC needs to get more strict on mandatories.

If he fights the Kov Ward winner he can be forgiven for not fighting his Mando as it's a fight that's great for the sport... Anyone else than strip his ass.......

That's a lie and you know it.

Kovalev's team are the ones that avoided Stevenson

          Check the Russians resume..

          0 punchers

          ZERO punchers.

Do you think Ward will fight will fight him? I remember he once said Stevenson needs better opposition and that hasn't really changed recently.
Glad to see somebody knows Duva backed out

            Ward will not fight Stevenson.

Here come the Duva haters with their same boring b.s. lines. LOL

Hey, if Stevenson is true to his word, I'm sure Kovalev and Duva will be also. And the fans get another great fight. Can't beat it.

                Yeah right, Adonis.
You want them, but they can't want you. You're so inaccessible.

Don't know about Stevenson these days. Watch his fight with Travoris Cloud (2013) - Stevenson was throwing his left far faster and maintaining at least some level of defensive responsibility being able to duck some counters, spring back to get distance, cover.

These days, he still throws his left with bad intentions, and there is no doubt its a game-changer when (if) it lands, but what defensive skills he had have greatly diminished - he's basically slowed down a lot.

Styles make fights, and I think the easier one to imagine is Ward, where I think Ward would have fun with him for a full 12 rounds - it would be Calzhage/Lacy.

Another recent aspect of Stevenson is that the bounce in his step goes as early as round 2, where he goes flat-footed. It means his lefts potentially go in harder, with his feet planted, but he's loses the ability to quickly unplant, so is there for counters. I think Kovalev would be smart enough to keep the distance for the first couple to read the left, then be able to time it so that it would be Stevenson throwing a wild left, missing, then catching multiple counters.

He has a punchers chance with both, but I think both Ward and Kovalev would beat him fairly easily. Ward with a 12 round whitewash, and Kovalev a stoppage around 9.

I just think there is more chance that Ward will fight Stevenson than Kovalev

                    been there done that

in fact if Ward beats Kovalev, that fight is highly likely

                    but possibly not next
