should clinching be taken more seriously?

exactly. unless one guy is herculean strong or super tall it generally takes two to clinch. keep your hands free, get your lead leg in beween your opponent's legs, stay low, and punch. your opponent will let go if you have power. it's pro boxing and a part of the sport. hell, it's much less a part of the sport than it used to be. these guys use gloves with a thumb literally attached to the fist. 8 -10 oz gloves, too, and foam. by the 12th round and in a horsehair, 6 oz glove you used to be able to form your hands damn near well enough to use chop sticks.

Once again you make another thread where you're absolutely the last person who should be complaining after sucking on Kell Brook's nuts for the past few months.

Too much clinching is often allowed. Illegal holding and hitting is often allowed. I don't like it but that is the way it is. Some famous boxers used these tactics all the time. Mosley, Hatton and Ward are three of the worst offenders. Often they don't even throw a punch until they have grabbed their opponent first. Then they hold him with one hand and pound away with the other hand. That's not infighting. Infighting is close range fighting. They are holding and hitting which is illegal but that rule often is not enforced. It's legal in MMA not not boxing.

He tried that with Spence but Spence wrestled his arms free and kept punching.

He did indeed promise us a smashing Brook victory complete with chocolate brownies. Spence wasn't supposed to have a prayer of winning, let alone making Brook quit. Some English posters were over confident to say the least.
