    The Real on Margarito-Williams

All hating aside, Im going to look at it from both sides.

1st off I find it very interesting that Margarito kicked him out of his camp and now Williams calls him out. That tells you that he has been in there a bunch with Margarito and has no kind of fear of him. How can a young prospect call Margarito out unless he thought he was owning him in sparring?

The flip side to that is sparring is just that. Sparring. Alot of times it means nothing and e****ally in cases where you have a younger guy and a champ because the younger guy wants to go so hard to prove that he's great and will really brag if he does something special, while the older guy looks at it as just sparring and doesnt care anything about beating the kid down. Even Floyd has had a number of guys claiming that they owned him in sparring including Kid Dynamite of all people.

I myself personaly think Margarito is overrated and has trouble with boxers. Thats why I think Santos gave him trouble and I also thought 6 heads caught him with some good punches before getting KO quicked but I could tell in that short time that Margarito was flawed but 6 heads was just too shot to prove anything.

Thats why this match is so intriguing. Margarito will be fighting someone who is actually taller then him, can box, is a southpaw, and somone who is actually more of a volume puncher then he is. Almost all the advantages that Margarito always has is neturalized against Williams.

Now Williams is still green and could get killed but people trying to compare this fight to Cintron are crazy. This guy is 10x more skilled then Cintron and is a totally different kind of fighter. Cintron is ready made for Margarito.

On the flip side, I personaly think that Williams looked good tonight but people maybe getting too carried away with his performance. It was a great performance but far from flawless. Like Margarito, he has very littile defense and just counts on his volume punches to be his defense. Tonight he got tagged with some good shots that stunned him and if that was Margarito them, then he probally wouldve went to sleep. Did you see how much he dropped his right after the jabs? That is a nightmare against Margarito.

The flip side of that though is tonights opponent was a straight counter puncher and they are harder to hurt sometimes. Margarito will be coming forward and throwing alot, so even though he's bigger then the guy Williams fought tonight, he could actually get hurt quicker because Williams will have alot more oppenings then he got tonight.

The bottom line is this is a fight that must happened. People love to always say that fighters duck Margarito but I always say that if you are getting ducked then you should change weight classes like everyone else and there are a bunch of guys at 54 that will fight him and I know that Callazo will fight him right now. Now you have a young guy that you sparred with calling you out so you have no excuse. If he makes one then he will be no better then the guys he said ducked him. You cant say that you dont have time for young guys because you just went out of your way to fight Cintron which is your biggest win.

Also Margarito wants to get his name out there and this is the fight for it. Cintron had some hype but people are really thrilled about this Williams kid. Margarito beats this guy and his stock raises alot. How often does a vetran Champion get to raise his stock by fighting a green youngster? He would get alot of pub without having to face a serious threat like Mayweather. If Margarito doesnt take this fight then he's a fool and to me it would prove that there was more to the sparring then we know. It would prove that from what they saw in sparring, they want no part of Willimas.

i wouldn't mind seeing williams fight margarito but while martyse basicly got hit with the kitchen sink and didn't go down early or at all then how is williams supposed to hurt margarito who has a better chin, conditioning, defense and offence then martyse?

i know williams wants a shot at margarito, but id be in his best interest to keep gaining experiance and polishing his skills, kellerman liked him and hyped him up so im sure now hbo will bring him back cause he got people excited.

thier is a few young contenders coming up and margarito will have his share of contenders when he becomes champion or he will have to defeat these contender to get his first title shot.

I just told you why he cant hurt Margarito. He can hurt him because Margarito will be way more offensive then Martyse so that will leave more openings.

How many times have you heard fighters say that I couldnt knock him out because he was just content with going the distance and wasnt going to throw punches. Now Martyse was far from fighting a defensive, survival type fight but he was far less offensive then a guy like Margarito will be and when your that offensive then you will leave alot of openings just as Williams did himself tonight and got caught with some shots when it looked like Martyse had nothing left.

If you throw alot of punches and stay on the attack then you can easily be countered by a shot that will hurt alot even though that same punch wouldnt hurt as much if you werent being so offensive

I think Williams jab would cut into Margarito's punch count.

No. He'll stop Margarito around the 9th or 10th round

Margarito is not Thomas Hearns or Julien Jackson in terms of power. Why couldn't Williams take his shots?
