  • I have followed kovalev's career and jds has tried to headlight himself by taking credit for kovalev's skills and wins.
Some of the things he pretend like he taught Kovalev while you can see Kovalev did the same things when he competed as a amateur.
Jds loves the spotlight and are often trash talking on Kovalev's behalf, going inn details about gameplans.
Jds can thank Kovalev for the fighters that wanted him as a trainer.
He hasnt done a good job since all his fighters lost by brutal KO's. Jennings, algieri, Hopkins, stevens

    • Unfortunately, I have studied, only the first 5 rounds of their first fight so far.

One of the things that I saw from round 1 to 5, was Kovelev being scared to let his hands go, because it looked like he was scared of missing over and over.

Throwing and missing constantly, makes a fighter look dumb, and wears them out fast. Looked to me like kov was scared of that happening.

Is boxingscene.com now publishing "rumors"? Who paid for this story?

It doesn't even make sense. Of course some Ward fans will chew it up but anybody with half a brain would have to reject this as pure tabloid. If this were true it paints JDJ as a very weak man. It says JDJ wants to be on the Ward side because he hates how Kovalev treats him but if he can't be in Ward's corner (as an assistant) he'll take his pay check with Kovalev because his dignity is worthless. That's what Rick Reeno and J Prince want the boxing fans to believe about JDJ. I agree this fight must not be selling well.

There are right ways to promote a fight. They've ruin that. Could it be that they're acknowledging how terrible they are at promoting this fight and this is their cheap answer at promoting? A bunch of ****!
Agreed. I feel bad for JDJ.

        • Everything I've read about Kovalev makes me believe he is a **** human being. Doesn't surprise me at all. He's going to get it in the rematch.

With all this rediculous Russian hysteria being pushed by the media does anyone think this may be a ploy to desperately make this a profitable PPV? Or quite possibly our news media has created such a stir that Kovalev may have receded back into a Russian nationalist type sentiment where its us against them (further surrounding himself with loyal comrads)?

As far as Kovalevs racist comments it's just a Russian thing. Everywhere else in the world races bust each others balls. In America we're taught not to do that.

Unless it's against crackers, then it's perfectly OK.

            • After Kovalev ran his mouth about "most American coaches are zeroes," JDJ should've bounced! I'm actually disappointed he would stay with people who are disrespectful!

"I already see the ****ery starting already this year. Kovalev is blaming his loss to Andre Ward on John David Jackson. My problem is this, guys like that always say, 'I'm going to bring in somebody to help out.' Who can help the best trainer in boxing? Nobody," stated former world champion Nate Campbell, who shared his thoughts on an interview where former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev slammed American trainers and expressed his desire to add a Russian trainer to his team...

To be honest with you, I was pulling for Kovalev on the strength of John David. That's the whole reason I was pulling for him. I didn't pull for him because I like him. I was pulling for him because of John David. I don't hate him, but I was pulling for Ward to make a good fight for it and he did. But I don't think you should be able to win a fight the way he won it. I'm old school; I believe you gotta beat the champion. It should be clear that you're the better fighter. The close rounds should go to the champion.

But you lost because Andre Ward was the better athlete. John can't train you how to be an athlete. John can train me because John can teach me everything he knows because I'm athletic enough to pull it off. Kovalev is not an athlete. He's stiff, just like every other European fighter; all he got is power. What was he when John got him? He was a stiff, basic fighter. He was a basic European fighter. John David gave him some bounce and a little something and now you want to say that John can't teach you. What it is is you're unteachable. You can't be taught and that's the problem. See, the problem is you get these guys that want to blame somebody else for their downfalls and shortcomings, and those type of guys, you gotta be very, very leery of them.

I hope Jackson tells Hunter everything he knows about Kov.
Kovalev is in the WBC Clean Boxing Program. Ward is not. Stereotypes are bad.

Roy jones has said something similar, about a lot of american coaches really not knowing what they are doing, although it was pertaining to olympic trainers. I think bhop has also said something similar.

They just didnt go all out likee kovalev saying "all" are zeroes.

                    • Kovalev gonna have to do a MJP interview where he's sitting next to JDJ and will hug him mid video so Duva can continuing trying to sell Kovalev as something he's not.

I keep saying they should let Kov be Kov and even turn his persona to 11. He'll be a more profitable bad guy people pay to see lose then a good guy people will pay to see win. But every promoter and fighter tries to go for some cardboard cutout persona of perfection like SRL or ODLH in there primes like that really even exists or is attainable.
